Because of the chaos, mass migration and the collapse of the economy, Ukraine could not have defended itself by warning the population of the danger of an invasion.

Ukraine has been losing five to seven billion dollars every month since the beginning of the war. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with The Washington Post.

You can't just tell me, "Look, you have to start preparing people now and tell them they need to save money, they need to stock up on food." If we told this (to the Ukrainians about the upcoming invasion) - and this was wanted by some people whom I will not name - then I would be losing $ 7 billion a month, starting from October last year, and by the time the Russians are on us attacked, they would have captured us in three days,” Zelensky said.

I won't tell you who came up with it, but in general our instinct was correct - if we had sowed chaos among the people before the invasion, the Russians would have devoured us. Because in times of chaos, people flee the country,” Zelensky was quoted as saying by The Washington Post.

By not informing the public about the Russian invasion, Zelenskiy said, Ukraine was as strong as it could be.

Some Ukrainians left, but most remained in the country and went to fight for their homes. And no matter how cynical it may sound, these are the people who stopped everything,” the president said.

Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about whether he believed in a full-scale war.

Listen, how can you believe it? That they will torture people and this is their goal? Nobody believed that this would happen. And nobody knew it. And now everyone (Western partners) is saying that we warned you, but you warned in general terms,” the President of Ukraine said.

According to him, when the Ukrainian side asked partners to provide specific information about the plans of the Russian authorities, the West had the same information as Ukraine.

And when I said, “Well, if they are coming from here and there will be heavy fighting here, can we get weapons to stop them?” We didn't receive it. Why do I need all these warnings? Why should I drive our society crazy?," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
