The Russian Federation has come up with a new fiction to delay the return of servicemen from captivity

A large number of Russian troops are in captivity, and some have been captured twice.

Ukrainian parliamentary ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has said:

Russian Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova said today that she has been approached by mothers and wives of Ukrainian prisoners of war who have been captured, asking her not to return them home.

Lubinets told of cases of being taken prisoner of war twice:

So there is something to answer to Mrs Moskalkova. There have already been several cases in Ukraine where mobilised Russian army soldiers captured by the Ukrainian army refused to be exchanged and expressed a desire to remain in Ukrainian-controlled territory.

For example, Russian soldier Aleksandr Fomenko from Taganrog or Ruslan Vyalshyn were taken prisoner by the Ukrainian Armed Forces more than once.

The ombudsman recalled that Ukraine always adheres to the Geneva conventions, which cannot be said about Russia, which regularly violates the norms of international law.
