Scholz agrees to hand Ukraine a company of Leopard 2 tanks

This was announced by the press service of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

This decision is in line with our well-known line of support to Ukraine to the best of our ability. We are acting in a way that is closely agreed and co-ordinated internationally.

According to official information, 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks will be delivered from the stockpiles of the Bundeswehr. It is also reported that this will only be the first delivery.

Germany will also take care of the logistics, maintenance and ammunition supply.

In addition, Germany will issue permits for re-export to partner countries. This means that countries that also have similar German-made tanks in their warehouses will be able to send them to Ukraine.
