US responds to Scholz on tank deliveries to Ukraine

This was stated by White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre during a briefing.

On the previous day, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he would transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine if the USA transferred its Abrams to Ukraine. The USA responded to Scholz:

The President (Joe Biden) believes that each country should make its own sovereign decision on what kind of security assistance and equipment they are willing to provide to Ukraine.

The White House press secretary also added that the "solidarity of nations" in support of Ukraine was evident, but each country had to make its own decision.

Additionally, the White House recalled that the USA was the "largest provider" of security and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Now a coalition of countries in Europe is forming which is ready to provide Ukraine with its tanks. This is done, among other things, to put pressure on Scholz so that Germany will finally hand over its tanks. The Poles were the first to come forward with the initiative. They were followed by the British. Now France is mulling over the transfer of its tanks.
