Media: Germany sends Leopard tanks to Ukraine


A minimum of one company, 14 units, of Leopard 2A6 tanks are planned to be transferred.
The Spiegel newspaper, citing the government, reported:
After months of wrangling, Chancellor Scholz has decided to supply tanks to Ukraine.
Germany plans to grant permission to export tanks belonging to other states.
"CNN" reports that the German army has 320 Leopard 2 tanks, with a German defence ministry spokesperson telling the publication that the tanks are in various states of readiness for deployment.
Also, Politico journalist Alex Ward reports that one of the two unnamed high-ranking US officials said that the USA would send about 30 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has said that the Netherlands plans to buy 18 Leopard 2 tanks from Germany for Ukraine:
We have leased them from Germany, which means we can buy them back and donate them.
Norway plans to transfer 8 of the country's 36 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine.
