NATO does not see that Russia has the power to attack from Transnistrian territory.

NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joan, in a panel discussion on the occasion of the start of the Munich Security Conference , said:

Today, Russia does not have enough power to surround Ukraine from behind with Transnistria, and such a plan still exists, then capture Odessa and then get a land corridor to western Transnistria. We do not see that Russia has the power to do this.

Russia is trying to undermine Sandu's leadership in Moldova:

And what they are trying to do is to obstruct Moldova's pro-European course, they are trying to work with the divisions that exist in this country. They are trying to undermine Maia Sandu's leadership.

Gioane also spoke about possible clashes between Russia and NATO:

Russia has neither the intention nor the ability to start a war against NATO. It has enough problems in Ukraine and we have to help Ukraine create as many problems as possible for Russia. We have to be very careful and avoid the risk of escalation.
