The letter “O” may become a new symbol of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine

In Russia, along with the letters Z and V, a new symbol of support for the invasion of Ukraine may appear.
The opposition publication " Agency " writes about this.
Since June, on the video of the presentation of awards to the Russian military, you can see red chevrons with the letter “O” and the Russian flag in the shape of the letter “L” on the uniforms of the generals. This is the symbolism of the so-called “Brave” group, which has been written about in military telegram channels since April, and at the end of June they began to be mentioned on the websites of Russian state media, the report says.
The first reports about the "Brave" began to appear in pro-government Russian telegram channels. According to these reports, the group has been fighting since late April in the area of Liman, west of Severodonetsk and Lysichansk. In June, she participated in the assault on Lisichansk. On June 26, the RIA Novosti agency began writing about the Brave.
The founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team, Ruslan Leviev, names the prosaic reason for the appearance of chevrons with the letter “O”.
In fact, these are the forces of the Central Military District under the command of General (Alexander) Lapin. He tried to make some kind of brand of his group out of a tactical sign, so he came up with the “Brave”, so he came up with such chevrons, Leviev believes.
He recalls that at the beginning of the war, the circle was drawn on the technique of the Central Military District. Since the end of April, videos of Lapin awarding soldiers with medals have shown soldiers wearing red stripes. And in June, the general himself appeared with a red chevron with the letter "L". On July 9, Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov appeared with a red chevron. And this may indicate that the letter is beginning to be perceived more widely than just a symbol of one of the groups.
