It became known how many crimes Russia committed against journalists and media in Ukraine


Russia is involved in the kidnappings and shelling of journalists and TV towers, threats, cybercrimes, and the spread of propaganda.
In seven months of a full-scale war, Russia has committed 454 crimes against journalists and the media in Ukraine. The Institute of Mass Communication reports itreported by the Institute of Mass Communication.
As of September 24, the Russian military has killed 38 journalists in Ukraine:
- eight journalists were killed while performing their professional duties (three Ukrainian and five foreign);
- 30 died as combatants or as a result of Russian shelling, not during their journalistic duties.
During the seventh month of Russia's war against Ukraine, the Institute of Mass Information recorded the abduction and shelling of journalists and TV towers, threats, cybercrimes, and the spread of Russian propaganda in the occupied Ukrainian territories.
Since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion, at least 215 broadcasters and online and print media (national, regional, and local) have ceased their activities in whole or partly due to hostilities and occupation. These are mainly regional media from Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Luhansk, and Chernihiv regions, - the Institute of Mass Communication reported.
