In wartime, ammunition, remnants of equipment, military debris can get into water bodies, which can worsen the quality of surface waters. Also, during the war, consumers are concerned about the radiation safety of water, the KSCA reports.

Kyivvodokanal strictly controls the water quality of the Dnieper and Desna rivers, as well as artesian wells. Laboratory specialists constantly take samples at water intakes and at the outlet of treatment facilities, so they can identify the threat in time and respond promptly.

According to the results of laboratory studies, the quality of water from surface sources of water supply and drinking water in Kyiv in terms of radiation safety and all other hygienic indicators meets the regulatory requirements of the current sanitary and epidemiological rules, the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
