The indexation of pensions from 1 March did not affect everyone, but this situation was partly due to the gradual implementation of the indexation.

According to the Ministry of Social Policy, pensions of scientists, civil servants and local government employees are to be increased from 1 July. They promise to index pensions by 19.7 per cent for 22,700 pensioners.

The minimum amount of indexation will be 100 hryvnias.

But the pensioners fear that the payments to the former civil servants may remain unchanged. And their fears may be justified, because pensions for this category have not been indexed for a long time.

According to the experts of the Socialka.ua website, this may be linked to the percentage of pensions of this category.

Previously, pensions for civil servants were actually set at up to 90 per cent of the salary. Then this percentage was gradually cut down, until 60% was left. Later, the retirement age for civil servants was raised to 62 years. There was also a period when civil servants were forbidden to work and receive a pension at the same time. At one time, there was also a decision that banned the recalculation of pensions granted under the Civil Service Act. In 2016, this type of pension was abolished altogether. The same fate befell academic employees," the publication wrote.

It is worth noting that these changes have significantly complicated the situation of civil servants in retirement. After all, not all of them were deputies and received high salaries.
