Shmygal: In Ukraine, it is planned to cut 30% of the entire staff of officials this year

This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmihal at a press conference.

Recently, for about two months, we have been working on a functional survey of the vertical of each ministry... We look at the functions of the state that this or that ministry performs as a sectoral structure that performs certain functions of the state. There are quite a lot of such functions, in different ministries they range from several tens to several thousand. Among these functions there are obsolete, and will never be performed by the state in the volume or directions in which they were performed earlier, - said Shmihal.

According to him, this is due to various reasons, in particular the war and the digitalization of services.

On the basis of these functional surveys, which we also do with the involvement of auditors, professional teams, we will make decisions on the conditions of certain functions, transfer them to a lower level, to agencies or to the local level. This allows us to talk today about the possibility of a 30% reduction in the whole staff of state officials. Not only in the structure of ministries, but also in the structure of inspections, central executive bodies, etc. on many fronts," he said.

He said that as of today, about eight thousand officials have been reduced. There are still several tens of thousands of cuts in vacancies and officials.
