

Half of the cancer cases have a simple explanation.
About half of cancer cases are related to tobacco and alcohol. An international group of scientists reached this conclusion as part of a study funded by the Bill Gates Foundation, writes The Lancet.
During the study, the article says that 44.4 percent of cancer deaths worldwide were related to smoking and alcohol.
They noted that the study was conducted in different countries and involved thousands of specialists who could interview many people, review their medical records and trace the connection between the disease and bad habits.
At the same time, experts investigated the relationship between various factors that affect people's health.
Experts said that tobacco was the most significant contributor to cancer, accounting for 33.9 percent of cases, followed by alcohol at 7.4 percent.
They noted that cancer caused by drinking alcohol or smoking kills most of the sick men and a third of women.
At the same time, scientists noted that only behavioral changes could affect the situation.
It is necessary to limit the use of alcohol and smoke less - the scientists drew attention.
They also noted that more attention should be paid to the early diagnosis of the disease and reminded that a complete examination by specialists should be carried out regularly.
It should be noted that according to the Institute of Oncology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, every year, more than 140 thousand Ukrainians find out that they have cancer, 450 every day.
