- Due to enemy shelling of TPPs in the frontline zone, the operation of two units was halted

Today the enemy hit one of the thermal power stations in the front-line zone. As a result of the attack, the plant's equipment was seriously damaged.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.
In the afternoon, the Russians shelled the thermal power plant in the frontline territory with artillery. As a result of the attack, two power units stopped working.
Due to this shutdown of thermal units, as well as a decrease in ambient temperature, a temporary shortage of electricity in the energy system is recorded," the ministry said.
Situation in the energy system
Today Ukrenergo recorded a deficit in the energy system. The reason for the increase in consumption was the cold weather and weather preventing the work of solar power plants. To overcome the deficit Ukraine had to attract emergency aid from Romania, Poland, Slovakia.
The greatest load on the energy system falls on the period from 11:00 to 19:00. Therefore, Ukrainians are urged to use electricity sparingly during these hours.
