Zelensky names model for potential talks with Russian Federation

Various countries could be mediators in potential negotiations with the Russian Federation, similar to the grain corridor arrangements.
A mediated model similar to the grain corridor agreements can be used in Ukraine 's possible negotiations with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with journalist Trudy Rubin for The Philadelphia Inquirer on 30 June. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with journalist Trudy Rubin of The Philadelphia Inquirer on 30 June.
When asked about the possibility of Ukraine holding talks with Putin, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine could find a model in which a solution could be found according to the relevant documents.
Zelensky clarified that this is the model used in the grain corridor agreements, when Ukraine negotiated not with the Russian Federation, but with the UN and Turkey.
They, in turn, took responsibility with us in a trilateral agreement and then signed an agreement with the Russian side. And that's how it worked. Two mirror agreements with the UN and Turkey in between, a signature with Ukraine and a separate signature with Russian representatives. That worked. This grain corridor worked for quite a long time," Zelensky said.
A similar model can be applied in negotiations with Russia on issues of territorial integrity, energy, free navigation.
Mediators in such negotiations can be not only the US and the EU, but also countries from different continents, including Asia, the Pacific region, Africa and Latin America.
In Zelenskyy's opinion, a document on this or that crisis can be prepared with the mediation of different countries. If it suits Ukraine, it will be considered by the mediating countries with representatives of the Russian Federation.
The President noted that so far Ukraine has only such a model.
