The U.S. is engaged in constructive talks with Ukraine and Russia.

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday, 26 April, that he was holding "constructive talks" with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy and with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin.

He said this in an interview in the programme "The Sunday Briefing" for Fox News, writes European Pravda.

Trump said that the US is "working on the situation with Russia, Russia and Ukraine" and expressed hope that the war can be resolved.

I do talk to him (Putin, - ed.) and I do talk to President Zelensky, and they are good conversations," he said.

Trump also repeated the narrative of "hatred between Putin and Zelensky."

The hatred between President Putin and President Zelensky is ridiculous. It's insane. And hate is a bad thing. Hate is a bad thing when you're trying to solve something, but it's going to happen," he added.

Zelensky recently admitted that the war in Iran has diverted attention away from Russia's aggression against his country, and there is a high risk that efforts to end the fighting in Ukraine may not resume until the conflict in Iran is over.

In early April, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his willingness to hold the next round of talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

on 25 April, Zelenskyy said during his visit to Azerbaijan that Ukraine was ready for the next round of peace talks with Russia in the trilateral format and on the territory of Azerbaijan.
