The air defense of Ukraine has reached a high level of efficiency: it shoots down already from 50 to 70% of Russian missiles.

This was announced by the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Major General Nikolai Zhirnov, in an interview with Army Inform.

An analysis of Russia's air and missile strikes shows that 50 to 70% of enemy missiles are shot down by air defense systems, both aviation and anti-aircraft missile units, Nikolai Zhirnov said.

Ukrainian air defense systems are Soviet systems that do not have the same efficiency and reliability as the air defense systems of NATO countries.

Unfortunately, today we cannot ensure 100% effectiveness of air defense operations; this is due to objective reasons - an insufficient number of reconnaissance equipment, aviation, and anti-aircraft missile systems, - said Nikolai Zhirnov.

The major general said that as long as the enemy has missile and air weapons, there will be a threat of air and missile strikes.

Although it can be stated that the enemy cannot use his aviation weapons with impunity and cannot ensure the effectiveness of his missile strikes, this became possible thanks to the work of the air defense system and the heroism and professionalism of the Ukrainian service members, Zhirnov summed up.
