During the week, the AFU advanced by 1.7 kilometres in the Melitopol direction


During the week, the Ukrainian military advanced south to southeast, repelling 1.7 kilometres in the Melitopol direction.
Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, deputy director of the department of planning for application of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Military Media Centre.
According to him, the NSU and AFU units continue offensive operations in the Melitopol direction.
Over the past week, the brigade's assault groups, supported by tanks, have advanced 1700 metres to the south and south-east," Mykola Urshalovich said.
He added that the military had to advance in conditions of dense mines and heavy fire. During the week, the invaders shelled the AFU 213 from MLRS, artillery and tanks and carried out 6 air strikes.
We will remind, according to the Institute for the Study of War, since the beginning of the counter-offensive the Armed forces of Ukraine released 253 square kilometres of territory. At the moment, the AFU are conducting counter-offensive actions in Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdyansk directions.
Also, the Commander of the AFU Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyy, reported that the AFU had success in the Bakhmut direction and were taking the city under fire control. According to the Defence Ministry, the Ukrainian military control the entrances, exits and movement of the enemy in the city.
