The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained what is needed to recapture the Donbass

Such a measure on the territory of the Russian Federation may have negative international consequences for Ukraine.
To return the occupied parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, it will be necessary to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. This was stated by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Viktor Andrusov in Telegram.
He explained why it is harder to attack than to defend.
The essence of a successful counteroffensive is to take strategic points. For example, taking Kherson with heavy battles, from a strategic point of view, there is no point. We will simply regain our city, the enemy will move a little further from Kherson, but will still create many problems for us. For the Russian army, it will be a threatening situation if we take Novaya Kakhovka, because the strategic value of this city is very high, he said.
According to him, the enemy knows about all these points and defends well there.
When such a strategic point is captured, a bridgehead begins to form on this territory, which creates a geographical advantage. Troops are gathered there, ammunition is brought in, and the point of impact is determined from this bridgehead. But it is clear that the enemy also begins to attack, conducts artillery preparation, strikes even in the process of our advancement. And therefore, under such conditions, we will suffer significant losses and sacrifices. The key role in such assaults is played exclusively by the presence of weapons, Androsov emphasized.
He stressed that the Ukrainian army would not storm Kherson, but could concentrate somewhere between Kherson and Nova Kakhovka.
They will not have the power and strength to knock us out, so it would be better for them to retreat, - Andrusiv explained.
It is much more difficult just to recapture the Donbass: for this, the Ukrainian army needs to enter the territory of Russia.
Otherwise, you will have to recapture the territory actually in the forehead. And such a measure on the territory of the Russian Federation may have negative international consequences for us and the loss of support from our allies, - Andrusiv stressed.
