Trump has predicted "hard times" are coming for Americans

Trump has imposed duties on 185 countries.
US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that Americans are in for tough times, but the outcome, he said, will be historic.
This is an economic revolution, and we will achieve victory. We will have to endure trials, it won't be easy, but the outcome will go down in history," he wrote.
Trump also emphasised that the United States is going through the crisis less painfully than China.
China has been hit much harder than the US - you can't even compare," he added.
At the same time, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) called Chinese President Xi Jinping a winner amid the introduction of new US duties.
Recall, on 2 April Donald Trump announced the introduction of duties on imports from 185 countries, including the UK, Ukraine and even uninhabited territories. The list did not include Russia, Belarus and DPRK.
The highest rate - 50 per cent - was set for Lesotho and the French territory of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. Goods from the European Union will be subject to a duty of 20 per cent, from China - 34 per cent, and from India - 46 per cent.
Even remote and uninhabited areas such as Australia's Heard and Macdonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean came under a tariff of 10 per cent. Although no one lives on these islands, the White House explained that they are included in the list because they are official Australian territory.
