Russian Federation hit a residential neighbourhood of Krivoy Rog with ballistics: many dead and wounded

In the evening of 4 April, the Russian military attacked Kryvyi Rih with a ballistic missile. As a result of the strike, residential houses, a catering establishment, cars and garages were destroyed.

What is known about the tragedy?

• The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a ballistic threat from the south-eastern direction.

• The explosion occurred in the centre of a residential neighbourhood, where there were apartment buildings and a children's playground.

• According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhiy Lysak, fires broke out and at least five houses were damaged.

The number of victims and casualties

As of 20:10:

• 14 dead, among them 5 children.

• More than 50 injured.

• The number of casualties may increase as the search and rescue operation continues.

Reaction to the attack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strike, emphasising that Russia is not interested in a ceasefire:
"Every missile, every strike drone proves that Russia only wants war."

The head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, added that the strikes on civilian objects prove Russia's intention to destroy Ukraine.

Ukrainian parliamentary commissioner for human rights Dmytro Lubinets called the attack a targeted terror against civilians.
