The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill on raising the age limit for military personnel.

Auto Bill Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, deputy of the party "Voice" Yaroslav Yurchyshyn believes that many would like to voluntarily join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but cannot do so due to age.

A story that I personally encountered: a retired military man with a high-ranking officer rank went to the military enlistment office to mobilize and start serving again. He is physically capable and healthy, has combat experience in Afghanistan and the ATO, and has not yet forgotten how to make the Russians die and lead the formation. But it cannot be mobilized,” Yurchyshyn writes.

The bill will increase the age limit for volunteers wishing to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, the selection criterion will be the presence of military experience (Afghanistan, ATO, JFO, peacekeeping operations) and a positive conclusion of the medical military commission.

Yaroslav Yurchyshyn summed up and spoke about the main goal of the bill.

The goal of the initiative is to give the recruitment centers the best soldiers, majors, lieutenant colonels and colonels with experience and quality soldiers, sergeants, and not only objectively useful ones,” Yurchyshyn added.
