Fitzo has taken an anti-Ukrainian stance and justifies Russian aggression.

Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova has criticised the government's judicial reform and the pro-Russian rhetoric of Prime Minister Robert Fitzo. Chaputova spoke about her dissatisfaction with Fitzo's cabinet in an interview with the Financial Times.

She pointed out that Fitzo is "testing the limits of democracy" with judicial reform as well as constant attacks on the Constitutional Court. She also compared him to his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban.

Slovakia is compared to Hungary quite often today, and it seems obvious that the Fico government draws some inspiration from Hungary," the president said.

Last autumn, Slovakia held parliamentary elections that brought Robert Fitzo and the Kurs - Social Democracy party to power. Fitzo has repeatedly voiced pro-Kremlin narratives, promised to end support for Ukraine and opposed its membership in NATO and the EU. Moreover, Fitzo's government has said that Russia's aggression is justified.
