Fitzo told Ursula von der Leyen that his government would not provide aid to Ukraine.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has refused to provide military aid to Ukraine because he wants to bargain with the EU. This was stated by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on Radio NV.

Fitzo has a desire, like Orban, to bargain with Brussels and the United States: to squeeze out additional money, additional positions. He talks about the fact that there will be no military aid. For the sake of fairness, let us say that we have already taken most of what we need from Slovakia," Klimkin said.

The former Ukrainian foreign minister also pointed out that Bratislava's refusal to provide military aid to Kiev did not mean that it would be impossible to buy weapons in Slovakia.

These are, as they say in Odessa, two big differences," Klimkin said.

Klimkin stressed that Fitzo's stated position does not mean that one cannot talk about cooperation with him. According to the Ukrainian diplomat, there are many "sane people" in his entourage, besides, Fitzo has personal grudges against Ukraine, which dictates his current attitude towards cooperation with Kiev.

There's a lot of personality there. And this, I think, can be removed, at least partially," Klimkin added.
