How long will the mobilization in Ukraine last

Martial law has been introduced in Ukraine and general mobilization has been announced.
The speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said that it is inappropriate to break the mobilization into some waves and stages. At the same time, he noted that there is a constant recruitment into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of today, mobilization activities continue. They will continue as long as it is necessary to complete the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Defense Forces. This process continues,” Motuzyanyk emphasized.
According to the legislation of Ukraine, all male citizens aged 18 to 60 are subject to mobilization. They are obliged to appear at the military units or at the assembly points of the territorial recruitment and social support center within the time specified in the summonses or at the time determined by the commanders of the military units.
Mobilization in Ukraine it is conditionally divided into 4 stages:
- The first stage of the operational reserve is former military personnel under 40 years old who have combat experience and served in the army under a contract or during one of the waves of mobilization.
- The second stage of the operational reserve is military personnel who served in the military until 2014 or served under a contract.
- Mobilization reserve (third stage) - citizens liable for military service who graduated from the military departments of universities as reserve officers and were not called up during previous mobilization campaigns.
- Public reserve (fourth stage) - other citizens who do not have age and physical restrictions on conscription for military service and can be recruited to recruit the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations only during a special period.
After receiving the summons, it is necessary to appear at the TCC (territorial recruitment center) to clarify the data, undergo a medical examination and receive an entry in the accounting file. According to Article 23 of the Law "On mobilization training and mobilization", a deferment can be obtained under family circumstances - a dependent person with a disability, a single father or a father with three or more children.
As confirmation, you must provide a birth certificate, a certificate of a disabled person or other documents. If there is no right to deferment, the conscript is sent for a medical examination.
The Law on Mobilization provides for certain categories of persons who will not be mobilized for a certain period of time. It cannot be longer than 6 months. This category includes officially employed persons in:
- public authorities and other state institutions
- local authorities
- enterprises, institutions and organizations that fulfill orders or deliveries for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
As noted in the Ministry of Defense, today in Ukraine there is no question of mobilizing women. There is no clause in Ukrainian legislation that would oblige women to be drafted into the army during mobilization. They can only mobilize voluntarily.
During the general mobilization, applicants for professional and higher education, graduate students, doctoral students in full-time or dual form of education are not called up for service.
According to the press service of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, summonses can be handed in at the place of residence, work, at checkpoints, on the street or in other public places. However, they can be handed over only after establishing the identity of the person.
If you do not appear at the TCC, then a fine of 100 to 200 non-taxable minimum citizens is provided, that is, from 1,700 to 3,400 hryvnias. The police have the right to detain those liable for military service who evade mobilization. Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
