In turn, the press secretary of Volodymyr Zelensky, Serhiy Nikiforov, said that they would not inform about the visit of Maia Sandu in advance. That is, even after agreeing on the visit of the Moldovan president to Ukraine, it will not be announced. This is used in Ukraine for security reasons.

It is worth noting that this procedure is applied to all foreign politicians and leaders - their visits are not announced in advance and they become known immediately upon the arrival of foreign guests in our state.

Recall that Moldova will support sanctions against Russia, which the EU intends to extend. After all, the status of a candidate for the European Union implies a manifestation of solidarity with European countries.

To this, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the Kremlin is not going to delay in responding to such a decision by Moldova.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Kuleba, expressed solidarity with Moldova against the background of the Kremlin's threats because of the government's desire to impose sanctions against Russia.

Recall that on June 23, at the summit of EU leaders, it was decided to grant Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidates for membership. However, both countries must fulfill a number of requirements in order to confirm this status.
