Among the Venezuelan security forces, people with chevrons bearing the emblem of the terrorist Wagner Group were spotted.
During the protests in Venezuela, which began after Nicolas Maduro allegedly won the presidential election again, Russian mercenaries of PMC Wagner were spotted. The corresponding video was published by journalist Jason J. Smart.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the appearance of the Wagnerites in the Latin American country.
He stressed that the appearance of the Russian terrorist group in Venezuela is a vivid example of Russia's unscrupulous interference in the affairs of other states, as well as its usual strategy to wreak havoc around the world.
Wherever these thugs go, they bring death and destabilisation," Zelensky wrote.
He added that Ukraine sees that the people of Venezuela are going through very hard times. Zelensky said that the only way out of this is to hold peaceful and democratic procedures. In his opinion, "sending Russian assassins to Venezuela" will only exacerbate the situation.
Ukraine condemns the use of force against peaceful protesters and calls on everyone to respect the people's choice," the Ukrainian leader pointed out.
We would like to point out that the Defence Blog website reports about the fighters with PMC Wagner patrolling the streets of Caracas together with local law enforcers. It is indicated that the Wagnerites were spotted in Venezuela not for the first time. So, in 2019 in Caracas they provided security for Maduro after protests against his regime, also Wagnerians trained elite troops in Venezuela.
Recall, on 29 July, the electoral Commission of Venezuela announced the incumbent head of state Maduro the winner of the presidential election. The opposition of the country declared the victory of their candidate and election fraud. After that, protests began in the country, which are still ongoing.
