Russian Federation tortured some Ukrainians to death - UN

The Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine systematically used torture, which led to the death of several Ukrainians.
This was stated by the head of the Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine, Eric Mese, Reuters has reported.
According to him, the UN has collected additional evidence about the systematic use of torture by the Russian armed forces in the temporarily occupied territories.
In some cases, torture was used with such brutality that it led to the death of the victim," he said.
According to commission member Pablo de Greiff, it is impossible to say the exact number of Ukrainians who died from torture.
It is noted that the Commission visited the de-occupied territories, in particular, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. It found that torture was mainly used in detention centres run by the Russian authorities.
Earlier, the commission said that the crimes of the Russian military in Ukraine might constitute crimes against humanity.
