Ombudsman explains whether it is possible to refuse to work during an air raid

Employees have the right to refuse to work during an air raid.
The Ukrainian parliamentary ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, said this.
The ombudsman said that currently the labour law does not stipulate a norm prohibiting working during an air raid, nor does it stipulate the employer's responsibility if he has to work.
But according to the Labour Code of Ukraine the employer is obliged to ensure the safety of his employees.
An employer may not require an employee to perform work that endangers his or her life or in conditions that violate labour protection laws," Lubinets wrote.
In his turn, an employee has the right to refuse to perform assigned work during events which threaten his life or health.
