About 50% of Ukraine's energy system destroyed - Zelensky

During a conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joseph Biden yesterday, the Ukrainian president noted that Russia had already destroyed around 50 per cent of Ukraine's energy infrastructure during its rocket terror. Zelenskyy also thanked the USA for helping to restore Ukraine's energy system.

The Ukrainian president also asked Biden for help in strengthening and expanding the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defence system. Zelenskyy said that this was especially important after the beginning of winter in Ukraine.

In his turn, Biden said that strengthening Ukraine's air defence was a priority for US defence assistance.
