Almost half of Ukrainian refugees may stay in Europe after the war

This is according to a study by the EWL Migration Platform and the Centre for East European Studios at the University of Warsaw.

The study said that 48 per cent of refugees from Ukraine who work in Germany and Poland may stay in these countries for at least a year after the war ends.

At the same time, every fourth respondent wants to return to Ukraine.

According to experts, such a high percentage of respondents willing to stay in Europe demonstrates that they have the opportunity to find a stable job here.

It is noted that the majority of Ukrainian refugees in Europe took jobs in the hotel and restaurant business, trade, as well as simple physical work. Before the full-scale war in Ukraine, they most often worked as highly qualified specialists in service and trade, teachers, as well as managers.
