New US aid package to help Ukraine contain Russia

This was announced by US Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl.

According to Kahl, this package "has nothing to do with today's or tomorrow's battles." Ukraine will need the opportunities Washington provides in the medium and long term.

It's about Ukraine's ability to defend itself and deter further aggression in two years, and this is extremely important because... The US Deputy Secretary of Defense also recalled that since Joe Biden came to the White House, the United States has provided over $13.5 billion in aid to Ukraine, including $12.9 billion over the past six months.

The Pentagon said the new aid package would include:

• six NASAMS systems;
• additional shells;
• Puma unmanned aerial systems and accessories for Scan Eagle systems;
• VAMPIRE systems;
• missile systems with laser guidance;
• funding for training.
