NATO: Russia lost five times more troops in Bakhmut than Ukraine

NATO intelligence estimates that Russia lost five times as many troops trying to capture Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, as Ukraine defended the city.
This was reported by CNN citing the military representative of the North Atlantic Alliance.
He notes that the five-to-one ratio is an informed estimate based on intelligence. And noted that despite the favourable ratio, Ukraine suffered significant losses defending the city. This information has been repeatedly confirmed by Ukrainian officials as well.
Our defenders have inflicted significant damage on the enemy, destroyed a large number of vehicles, forced the use of the best units of the Wagner group and reduced the enemy's offensive potential," Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, commander of the Ukrainian land forces, said after visiting Bakhmut on 5 March.
