UK defence ministry: liberated Kherson is a blow to Russia's image

Russia was forced to withdraw its own troops
British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace called the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson "another strategic failure" of the Kremlin. According to him, the capture of Kherson at the beginning of the war was the only time when Moscow achieved an important goal. The loss of this territory will raise a reasonable question among Russians: then why was the war needed?
Wallace stressed that the withdrawal of troops from Kherson was a public acknowledgement of the difficulties faced by Russian troops on the western bank of the Dnepr:
This has dealt a serious blow to Russia's image
British intelligence suggests that the Russian army started retreating from Kherson as early as 22 October, when the occupation authorities called on civilians to leave the city
According to the agency, the Armed Forces have now occupied a large part of Kherson Region on the western bank of the Dnieper River and largely control this territory, including the regional centre.
