Melnyk explains why Ukraine needs a submarine

Ukrainian deputy foreign minister wants German HDW class 212A submarine
Former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany and current deputy foreign minister Andriy Melnyk said that Ukraine really needs a German submarine because with such equipment it would be able to "keep the entire Russian Black Sea Fleet in check". He wrote this on Twitter.
Dear German friends, a comment about German submarines. This is not wishful thinking but my personal experience. As Consul General in Hamburg, I was on board the U-212A at Eckernferd naval base in 2008. It is really huge! One admiral told me: you need only one submarine to keep the Russian Black Sea Fleet in check," he said.
The Ukrainian deputy foreign minister wants a German HDW class 212A submarine.
It is known that this submarine is manufactured by the German concern ThyssenKrupp. According to open sources, there are only 10 such submarines in the world and six of them are in service with Germany.
