Canada supports the proposal for an immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has expressed his full support for Ukraine while speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
I spoke with Prime Minister Starmer, President Zelensky and many of our close allies to discuss Ukraine's path to peace," Carney said in a post on the social network X.
He also stressed that Canada supports the proposal for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, while assuring that the country will continue to provide Ukraine with the necessary military assistance for defence and self-defence, both now and in the future.
