Kremlin officials banned from using iPhones

The Kremlin fears espionage from the West.
This was reported by the Russian media.
According to local publications, employees of the Russian presidential administration have been advised to replace iPhones with Android smartphones or similar.
Tentatively, the AP will purchase new secure smartphones for employees to "facilitate the abandonment of American technology". The same advice will also go to regional administrations.
The reason for abandoning iPhones is allegedly related to "security". Russian officials are told that these smartphones are prone to hacking or spying by the West. Russian officials should switch to Android, Chinese equivalents or the Aurora OS developed by a subsidiary of Rostelecom.
