The United States has increased pressure on Western governments to use funds from frozen reserves of the Russian Central Bank to support Ukraine.

Russia has said that it plans to confiscate assets belonging to "unfriendly countries" in favour of the budget. This was stated by the head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Voloshin, in his Telegram channel.

The head of the Russian State Duma noted that "some European politicians, including the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, have again started discussing the issue of using Russia's frozen funds to continue military militarisation of Kiev."

Voloshin said that the Russian Federation would consider a symmetrical response.

Such a decision would require a symmetrical response from Russian Federation. In this case, much larger assets belonging to unfriendly countries will be confiscated than our funds frozen on the territory of Europe," he wrote.

Note, the Kremlin holds approximately $ 300 billion in various bank accounts in Western countries.
