Russian troops launched another strike on Kharkiv Region on 22 April. A television tower in Kharkiv was damaged, the head of the local OVA, Oleh Sinegubov, said.

He also reported that terrorists from the Russian Federation continue to shell the communities of Kharkiv region. Within an hour the enemy struck three settlements of the region:

• in the town of Volchansk a guided aerial bomb hit the territory of a non-operational meat processing plant.
• in the village of Slobozhanske, Kharkiv district, the hit was in an open area. Information about the damage is being clarified.
• in the town of Dergachy also hit an open area. At this moment - without casualties.
• in Kharkiv the occupants aimed at the object of critical infrastructure.

According to preliminary data, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with a Kh-59 missile on the afternoon of 22 April. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor-General.

TheKh-59 Gadfly missile (Izdeliye D-9, according to NATO codification AS-13 Kingbolt) is a Soviet-Russian high-precision air-to-surface medium-range (up to 290 km for the Kh-59MK2) air-to-air missile.

It is designed to hit important enemy ground and surface targets, covered by air defence, visually detected by the operator at any time during the day in simple weather conditions. There are also variants for round-the-clock and anti-ship use.

We will remind, during the day on 22 April there were 62 military clashes on the front. At the same time, the Russian army continues to shell Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

As a result of the Russian missile attack on 17 April in Chernihiv 16 people were killed, 61 people were injured. Three people were rescued from under the rubble.

Earlier it was reported that as a result of a massive missile attack on the night of Thursday, 11 April, Russian troops completely destroyed the Trypilska thermal power plant in the Kiev region. As a result of missile hits there was a large-scale fire in the turbine shop. It is reported that all workers of the plant, who were on shift during the shelling, are alive.

To hit the Tripolskaya TPP, Russian troops used their new Kh-69 cruise missiles. The missiles had a launch range of about 400 kilometres. This parameter exceeds the known estimates of the Kh-69's range of 300 kilometres. This is not the first use of the Kh-69 to strike Ukraine, at least the first mention of their use first appeared in February 2024, although isolated cases were as early as 2023.

Earlier, on the evening of 10 April, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the Odessa region, killing four people and injuring seven others. The missile attack killed four people, among them one child - a 10-year-old girl.

Seven people were also injured - one person is in serious condition, his lower limbs were amputated. According to Oleh Kiper, transport infrastructure and lorries that were nearby were damaged due to the shelling in Odessa Region.
