How Ukrainians feel about the idea of expanding presidential powers - opinion poll

These are the data of a sociological survey conducted by the company "Active Group" on 1 October 2023 using the online panel SunFlower Sociology.

Answering the question "In your opinion, should President Zelensky's powers be expanded or narrowed?" 34.3% of respondents said they should be expanded, of which 20.4% said they should be significantly expanded and 13.9% said they should be slightly expanded.

On the other hand, 6.9% of respondents believe that the authority should be slightly reduced, 12.2% - significantly reduced. 15% of respondents were undecided.

Regarding the question "Should the powers of the next President of Ukraine after Zelensky (whoever becomes him) be expanded or narrowed?", 16.6 per cent of respondents said that they should be expanded, 8. 4 per cent of them said that they should be significantly expanded, 8.2 per cent - slightly expanded, and another 37.1 per cent of Ukrainians believe that they should be left as they are.

However, 19.3% of respondents believe that the powers of the next President should be reduced, of which 8.6% answered "slightly reduce", 10.7% - significantly reduce. 27% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question.

Method: self-completion of questionnaires by Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and older.

Sample: 600 questionnaires (representative by age, gender and region of Ukraine).
