The SBU has taken out of Transnistria and detained an FSB special forces agent who wanted to recruit an SBU employee.

The SBU counterintelligence service has carried out a multi-stage special operation, as a result of which it removed an FSB agent from the territory of the unrecognised Transnistria and detained him in Odessa Region. This is reported by the SBU.

In order to lure the Russian agent to the territory of Ukraine, counterintelligence SBU introduced in his field of vision of the current employee of the SBU and created conditions for her "consent" to cooperate with the enemy.

The attacker travelled to Odessa region to personally recruit the "candidate". Operational combination of the SBU allowed to detain him "on hot", - stated in the message.

According to the investigation, the enemy agent turned out to be a citizen of Ukraine, who in the early 90's went to Moldova, where he participated in the war on the side of the militants of the so-called "DMR".

The SBU investigators informed the agent of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The attacker faces life imprisonment.
