The SBU has neutralised an FSB agent group in Odessa, with one of the agents using wigs for concealment.

The SBU neutralised an FSB agent group in Odessa. The spy cell consisted of two military officers and their accomplice. This was reported by the SBU on 2 July.

On the instructions of the Russian secret service, the spies were scouting locations of air defence systems that defend Odessa.

The agents systematically travelled around Odessa and the surrounding areas to collect information. If they found "necessary" objects, they covertly photographed them and marked the corresponding geolocations on Google maps.

Another task of the enemy group was the disguised installation of wireless video cameras on the territory of the Odessa seaport.

For conspiracy, the enemy spies used taxis, and their accomplice disguised her appearance by constantly changing her wigs.

The SBU gradually documented all the facts of intelligence and subversive activities of spies and detained a resident of the FSB agent group and his accomplice when they were photographing a military facility.

The agent of the spy cell, a local resident, was detained in her own home after she had done additional reconnaissance near a potential target.

During the searches, the detainees were seized mobile phones, which they had specifically purchased and used exclusively for communication with the FSB.

SBU investigators informed the spies of suspicion under part 3 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed by an organised group under martial law).

The spies are in custody, they face life imprisonment.

Earlier, Socialportal reported that the SBU counterintelligence with the assistance of the State Border Service exposed a border guard who was an FSB spy.
