Denis Shmygal reveals how much Ukraine has spent on the war

Summing up the year at this year's last cabinet meeting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said on Friday:

During the full-scale war, the government has allocated more than 1.2 trillion hryvnia to the security and defence sector. We have significantly increased payments to all military personnel, more than 250 billion hryvnia have been allocated for the purchase and modernisation of weapons and equipment that effectively destroy the occupiers.

Shmygal noted that economic assistance from allies of Ukraine amounted to 31 billion dollars.

The prime minister also said that Ukraine will need more than 700bn dollars to rebuild itself based on current calculations.
