Boston Dynamics reveals new features for its robot
Boston Dynamics' robot can now pick up and serve things, as well as jump and do somersaults
It is hoped that the robot can be adapted to help with physically demanding tasks.
Boston Dynamics has published a video on its social media sites showing the new capabilities of its Atlas robot.
The robot can now pick up heavy items with its robotic arms and feed them. The creators clearly demonstrated an example of such assistance.
The robot carried a bag of tools to the top of a scaffold, helping a builder.
According to Atlas team leader Scott Quindersm, the video is a demonstration of the robot's new control capabilities. Atlas hopes to create technology that can easily adapt such dynamics for physically demanding jobs.
