A woman from the Rivne region creates icons on ammunition crates

Nina Avgustin from Mlinov, in the Rivne region, is engaged in amazing icon painting.
Vitaliy Koval, Head of the Rivne OVA , spoke about the artist.
The boxes for the artist are brought by volunteers from the front line. Some are slashed with shrapnel, others are pierced by bullets. Our defenders fill them with sand and use them as a shield during shelling. And now on the boards, mutilated by the war, the faces of saints and angels are depicted.

To date, the artist has already created 6 such images. One of them is at the forefront now. Nina Augustine donated another work to charity. The remaining 4 icons adorn St. Michael's Church in Mlinov.

The artist has a desire to continue working in this direction. She needs ammo boxes. The woman wants to show that what brought war and death can turn into spirituality and life, - wrote Koval.
