Zelensky says who he wants to see at the meeting with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Kiev is ready to hold a new round of high-level talks with Russia, the USA, Turkey and European countries. The statement by the head of state said this.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine expects a response from international partners to the proposal to organise a meeting of leaders by the end of August. It is important, the president stressed, that European representatives take part in the talks.

Zelenskyy said that he had discussed the participation of EU countries in such a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and informed him about the outcome of the third round of talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations held in Istanbul on 23 July.

It was possible to reach agreement on another exchange of prisoners. We are also waiting for a reaction to the initiative to hold a multilateral meeting at the level of heads of state," Zelenskyy said.

In addition, the leaders discussed Ukraine's progress on the path of European integration and agreed to jointly look for ways to open the first negotiation cluster in the near future. Zelensky emphasised the importance of a synchronous movement of Ukraine and Moldova in this direction.
