- What is the usefulness of apricot kernel oil

Apricot kernel oil is a natural product that is highly valued in cosmetology, nutrition and folk medicine.
Light texture and rich composition of useful substances make apricot kernel oil a universal means for skin and hair care. Due to the fact that the oil is a "light" oil, it is "friendly" with the skin, easily absorbed, does not leave a heavy greasy film and is perfectly integrated into the lipid layer of the epidermis, softening, moisturising and restoring it.
Useful properties
Apricot kernel oil has a wide range of useful properties:
- Antioxidant: protects cells from free radicals and slows down aging processes.
- Wound-healing: promotes rapid tissue regeneration in case of minor injuries and irritations.
- Restorative: strengthens the lipid barrier of the skin, increases its elasticity and firmness.
- Moisturising: prevents dehydration and helps to keep the skin soft and smooth for a long time.
- Anti-inflammatory: reduces redness, irritation and improves the condition of problematic and sensitive skin.
Composition and its action
The main "secret" of the effectiveness of apricot kernel oil is a complex of biologically active compounds:
- Unsaturated fatty acids (linolenic, oleic, palmitic, linoleic, stearic): restore the lipid barrier, preventing moisture loss and making the skin more resistant to external factors.
- Vitamin E: acts as a powerful antioxidant, improves skin elasticity and firmness, preventing premature wrinkles.
- Vitamin A (retinol): one of the most effective anti-ageing ingredients, stimulates cell renewal and improves skin texture.
- Vitamin C: fights hyperpigmentation, signs of photo-aging and dullness, giving a more even and radiant complexion.
- Magnesium and potassium: soothes irritated and sensitive skin, improving its general condition and reducing the risk of inflammation.
Cosmetic applications
Apricot kernel oil is widely used in face, body and hair care. It can be added to creams, serums, masks and scrubs. With regular use, the oil improves skin tone and relief, softens rough areas, increases elasticity and gives a natural glow. In hair care, it strengthens the structure, preventing brittleness and split ends, making strands more shiny and manageable.
