What brands and items were the most popular in 2023

Lyst, a leading fashion marketplace and app, has unveiled its annual report, highlighting the key brands and trends popular in 2023.
These fashion items have generated interest from more than 200 million online fashion shoppers over the past year.
According to the Lyst Index, the Miu Miu brand stands out as one of the most sought-after. The company has actively collaborated with celebrities and requests for cashmere cardigans increased by 12% after the Autumn/Winter 2023 collection was shown. Demand for ballet flats increased by 75 per cent between March and September.
Miu Miu also initiated the main trend of the year - "underwear as outerwear" - by presenting several variants of cashmere briefs designed to be worn with tights.
The Loewe logo has become the luxury symbol of 2023. Demand for Anagram basket bags increased by 170% and the T-shirt with the logo, which was the most popular product of the second quarter, by 132% year-on-year. The popularity of Anagram jeans also reached record levels.

In 2023, shoes have taken centre stage after a year of nude dresses. The transparent shoe trend is seen by brands such as Loewe, The Row, Khaite, Bottega Veneta, Nensi Dojaka, Chanel and Stella McCartney. Alaïa's $850 mesh ballet flats have become iconic and ranked among the most popular products on The Lyst Index, ranking 7th in the second quarter in terms of search queries.

Adidas Samba became the trainer of the year, winning the love of celebrities and influencers. The Uniqlo shoulder bag, which costs less than $20, went viral and entered the handbag hall of fame.

Lyst's annual report also highlighted cultural moments that influenced the fashion world. Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour was named the top fashion tour, while the singer's performance in a Loewe bodysuit sparked a 140 per cent surge in enquiries. Important fashion figures of the year include South Korean singer Jenny, Taylor Swift and Rosalia.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky confirmed their status as the most stylish couple in the music industry, boosting demand for Andiamo bags by 263 per cent. The "quiet luxury" trend, inspired by the HBO series The Heirs, also influenced the fashion world in 2023.
Jacquemus' Le Bambino bags, Versace's autumn/winter Hollywood show, Kylie Jenner's appearances at Paris Couture Week and Gwyneth Paltrow's courtroom looks are also noteworthy. Maison Margiela's Tabi shoes, which became popular after a theft story, made the Lyst list.
