Vereshchuk: "Surrendered Russian soldiers will not be returned to Russia against their will."
Ukraine, represented by Irina Vereshchuk, gave security guarantees to the Russian military, who will surrender.
Vice Prime Minister - Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk called on the Russian military to surrender. She wrote about this in Telegram on September 21.
If you were taken into the army, and you ended up on the territory of Ukraine, you can simply surrender. So you save the most valuable thing - your life - for yourself and for your loved ones. This is better than an inglorious death in a foreign land, - wrote Irina Vereshchuk.
The Russian military in captivity are given security guarantees and decent conditions of detention.
Over time, you can be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners. However, if you do not want to return to Russia, then, according to the Geneva Conventions and the laws of Ukraine, no one will transfer you to Russia against your will, - added Irina Vereshchuk.
