Chechnya declared independence in July 1991, but the Russian Federation subsequently returned the territory of the independent country by force.

At the present time there are favourable circumstances when the peoples inhabiting the territory of Russia can declare their self-determination and secede from the invader state, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

He stressed that the political situation in the country gave many people a chance for freedom and independence. He also recalled that for many years the people of Chechnya tried to choose their right to independence.

There are parts of Russia that are prisons for other nations. These parts of Russia could have been liberated, like Chechnya. They could have become independent. They have been fighting for their freedom for centuries, and for the last few decades they have been very motivated. I believe that this country deserves its independence," the Polish prime minister said.

Moravetsky said that independence from the Kremlin would give many people a chance to live a normal life, without diktat and their secondary interests.

As a reminder, Chechnya fought with Russia for its independence in 1994-1996 and 1999-2009, but after the last war the aggressor state managed to restore federal control over Chechnya, which is now headed by Ramzan Kadyrov, who is a protege of the Kremlin and who supports the occupation war on the territory of Ukraine in every way.

Kadyrov proposes sending children from the occupied territories to Chechnya for "preventive education"
