Transcarpathian man given life sentence for killing children on Christmas Eve

A Transcarpathian resident was found guilty of the brutal murder of two children and sentenced to the strictest penalty - life imprisonment. The incident took place on Christmas Eve 2021 in Tyachiv.
This was reported by the press service of the Zakarpattia regional prosecutor's office.
A man in a state of intoxication started a conflict with his cohabitant. During the argument he injured her, her 9-year-old daughter and her 2-year-old son. The children died at the scene of the incident as a result of their injuries, while the woman was saved," the statement said.
At the trial, the man partially pleaded guilty.
The perpetrator was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder with particular cruelty (Part 2, Article 15, paragraphs 1, 2, 4, paragraph 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was also ordered to compensate the injured party for 2.4m hryvnyas in civil suits.
